Eolith

with Hyun Vin Kaspers

Founded in 2023, Eolith is a think tank engaging in academic research and professional consultancy from an understanding of architecture as a social technology. Eolith takes its name from knapped flints originally thought by archeologists to be artefacts from the dawn of humanity, but now suspected to be fragments formed fully by geological processes. The ambiguity of these objects' origins is archetypal of the anthropocene, where clear distinctions between the natural and human-made have broken down as the latter’s physical influence on the Earth grows beyond the grasp of human institutions. Eolith’s current projects include master planning of a large intentional community, and research on the development of corporate landscape design.
